The philosopher and theologian Dietrich of Freiberg (c. 1250 - 1310) was one of the most original thinkers of his time. He belonged to what has been sometimes called the Cologne School or the German Dominican School, alongside figures such as Ulrich of Strasbourg (c. 1225 - 1277), Master Eckhart (c. 1260 - 1327), and Berthold of Moosburg (d. c. 1361) - a group particularly marked by the influence of Albert the Great (c. 1193 - 1280).
