Legal probabilism is a research program that relies on probability theory to analyze, model and improve the evaluation of evidence and the process of decision-making in trial proceedings. While the expression "legal probabilism" seems to have been coined by Haack (2014b), the underlying idea can be traced back to the early days of probability theory (see, for example, Bernoulli 1713).
